Fidel & Mariana Rubio, CH Misericordia
Fidel and Mariana like to tell the story of arriving in Chihuahua with five pesos in their pocket. They were able to start a ministry for children that no other orphanage or child care facility would take. They have been faithful in pursuing the vision to serve these children and have seen God do something amazing with the home they have developed. They have persisted in making Casa Hogar Misericordia a home, a place of training and learning and a place where children who would not receive what they need at home can be cared for.

Juan Campa, Divino Maestro
Juan Campa, with a vision to begin a church in a very poor and remote area of the city, began to do just that in 1999 when construction began on their church property. At that time, there was almost no one living in site of the new church home. But now, just a few years later, as construction continues on the church building, population growth has occurred all around them. Pastor Campa is a tireless worker who leads by example and is loved by many team members who have gotten to know him over the years.

Ed & Rosa Salo, CH Lirio de los Valles
Papa Ed & Mama Rosa are committed to providing a family like home for the approximately 100 children who are in their care at Lirio de los Valles. Beginning the ministry from nothing, they have wonderful stories of faith to tell as they recount how God provided for them and the children every time. They continue to teach and practice giving as they often decide together with the children how much of what they have just received will be given away to those who are more needy. There is always more work to be done with 100 children in the family – that’s a lot of hugs needed each day and loads of laundry to be done.

Virgil Holt & Monte Miller, New Tribes Missions
This has been a wonderful partnership over the years with New Tribes missionaries at their training center, just north of Chihuahua, called Rancho Siloé. This is a mission training center where courses are all taught in Spanish; so team members have the opportunity to get to know some wonderful career missionaries, often from Canada or the U.S., as well as Spanish speakers who are preparing for missionary service among unreached people groups. Construction projects have included dormitories, classrooms, apartments, and recreational facilities.

Henk Kaemingk, YWAM, Creel
Henk was a rebel milkman from Holland who came to Mexico to travel around Latin America and find the true religion. He did not intend on finding the faith he calls his foundation today. As the YWAM Director in Creel, he has built it from the ground up while pastoring a small local congregation of Tarahumara Indians. God has given him a gift to be able to clearly communicate the love of God. He is able to think clearly through the challenges that God has placed before him and teach effectively about what he sees God doing in the world.
